perhaps it is time?

would you believe me
if I assured you that
you can never be too old
(or too young)
to meet the unborn
deathless Bright
that is your actual identity?

would you believe me
if I whispered that you
and the world appearing
within that radiant
Knowingness
are inseparable
except in thought?

would you believe me
if I said, No, it is not
too late
to turn in, to dive down
into your immensity
and feel loved again by
your own shy Life?

if your days feel deadened
by weariness and futility,
if your world seems fragmented
and full of pain,
I implore you: please
don’t believe or not believe,
but glance, with thoughts
on hold,
at the ever-present invitation
to check this out for yourself

perhaps it is time?

the you-ing of the universe

79

That, which lives this body-brain
That, which breathes this breath
That, which beats this heart
grows these fingernails
orders these hormones
divides these cells
grays this hair
senses the sensuous
perceives the perceived
thinks these thoughts…

That, is Life’s unimaginable play:
it’s the dance of Shiva
it’s the shakti of Amma
it’s the poet’s Beloved
it’s the intimate Presence
of undivided Experiencing
timelessly and ubiquitously
YOU-ing the universe

you are the world

“You are the world!” Krishnamurti insisted

no world?

nothing to be sensed,
no sentient beings

no sentient beings?

nothing to sense,
no world

the great knowledge of indigenous peoples
makes profound sense
of the sensuous:

nomads tracing songlines
gypsies ritually roaming
walking, singing, painting, dancing
world-ing the world
in inextricable intimacy
