this pristine perfumed morning

98

screech! crash! thud!
silence – ominous

shrill wail of ambulance,
pulsating siren of fire truck
voices shouting, calling,
urgency-laden

life delivers an ‘accident’ near my sanctuary
this pristine perfumed morning
and life rushes out to help

unburdened by a second thought
